Who we are

Nyamira North Women Co-operative Savings and Credit Society was registered on 8th May 2014 under the ministry of trade and cooperatives. The society is situated at Ekerenyo, Nyamira North District along Nyamira- Ikonge road. The current membership stands at 1604. The cooperative mobilizes financial resources that offer savings and credit facilities to its members. The Cooperatives currently implements livelihood projects in various agricultural value chains i.e. local vegetable production (spider plant) and mushroom. NNWS works in partnership with International Solidarity Foundation and the County government of Nyamira under the NARIGP (National Rural Inclusion Growth Project).

Strategic Objectives

  • To promote and encourage the spirit of savings among the members savings to increase domestic capital formation
  • To facilitate the creation of funds to be loaned to members for productive and provident purposes at low interest rates.
  • Link farmers to reliable and sustainable markets for their produce
  • Enhance women’s participation and decision in policy making-processes by addressing gender constraints issues which include the fight against gender based violence in the community
