Who we are
Bosinya Women Community Based Organization (BWCBO) is a female-owned organization founded in 2012 with women from 3 neighbouring wards (Manga, Magombo, and Bosamaro) in Ting’a, Nyamira County. The women farmers are involved in agricultural projects (local vegetable production) and village-based financial services (table banking and merry-go-round). These activities are aimed at improving members’ income levels. BWCBO is duly registered with the department of social development and is comprised of 13 registered member groups made up of 300 women.
Strategic Objectives
- Strengthen institutional capacity to develop, plan, implement and monitor community development projects
- Enhance the women farmers’ access to technical, market and value addition skills and knowledge
- Strengthens women farmers capacity to own productive and household assets, and women’s general participation in economic decisions
- Enhance farmers access and participation in high end, organized and profitable agricultural markets
- Enhance inclusivity by reducing VAWG at household and community levels through approaches that are disability and gender mainstreamed.
